Scouting, in Action

On his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout, Stephen Morton chose Dave’s House and Aspire Health Partners as the recipients of his efforts for his Eagle Scout Project. In May, we were honored to hear him detail how he raised funds and led a team of fellow Scouts in the preparation of essential personal care item gift bags for our residents.

He presented a $500 check to Dave’s House Co-founder Lin Wilensky to support our permanent supportive housing programs. He also donated a 43-inch TV, controllers and games to Kate’s Place Clubhouse at Aspire.

The Boy Scouts of America say that “’Eagle Scout’ is not just an award; it is a state of being.” We are so proud to have our work recognized by this incredible young man, who is well on his way to being a great community leader. We thank Stephen for his initiative, compassion and commitment to making the world a better place. Actions such as these will continue to erode the stigma of mental illness.
