Keeping Our Cause Top of Mind

In December, the Orlando Sentinel profiled a panel of 100 influential leaders, who discussed their opinions of the most important issues affecting the region. Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs was one of the “Florida Central 100,” and focused upon the work of Dave’s House.

“As we prepare to celebrate the New Year, our thoughts turn toward friends and family — none of whom are spared from dealing with serious health issues, including worries about loved ones living with a mental-health illness. Thankfully, in Central Florida, we have Dave’s House, the acclaimed group home that provides permanent supportive housing for adults living successfully with mental illness…. In 2016, as we continue to launch the homeless, victims of domestic violence and others on a path of self-sufficiency and success, we must maintain that same commitment to those living with mental illness. Thank you, Dave’s House.” – Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs

Thank you, Mayor Jacobs, for helping to keep permanent supportive housing for those with mental illness at the forefront of issues impacting Orlando!
